In my family, we grew up with a mother who had a passion for making things. Mimi was rarely seen without sawdust in her hair, stain on her fingers or a paint brush behind her ear. It was only natural that her love to create eventually evolved into her own gift business…Mimi’s Things.
Three decades later, I discovered that same passion for making things. It all started when I combined life’s natural sentiments with my simple black and white photographs, and framed them as tiny keepsakes. I loved giving them to my friends and family, and they loved receiving them. Unlike other gifts that would end up collecting dust, I noticed my creations proudly displayed in places they could be seen and appreciated – they popped up on desks, bedside tables, in kitchens. I knew I had discovered the perfect gift.
In 1996, my love to create evolved into my own gift business, Natural Life. Along the way I met talented artists and business people who I invited to help me grow Natural Life. Today, our products are turning heads across the country because of their unique, trend-setting and hand made quality. Along with the affordable prices and heartfelt sentiments, they truly do make the perfect gift! The gift my mother quietly passed down to me is precious because it gave me more than the talent to create things or run a business.
